Most homeowners lose warranty coverage they already paid for.

Manufacturers typically give you 60 to 90 days to register. Your builder registers what belongs to the house. Nobody registers your A/C, your water heaters, your refrigerator, or your washer for you.

Miss that window and a ten-year parts warranty can quietly drop to five. You find out in year seven, standing in your hallway, holding a repair quote you should never have had to pay.
